  • DKNY Handbags

    12 August 2009

DKNY certainly isn’t afraid to get a little bit exotic with their handbags, while still keeping them at accesible prices for luxury goods.  The brand, which started as a vision from designer Donna Karan, manages to put the spirit of New York into each of their creations, and this is especially true in the DKNY handbag line.  These bags can be described as fun and eclectic, with a bit of an international flare.  No two bags from the DKNY line look alike, let alone similar.  Women who like a mix of materials and colors will find these pieces irresistible.

Snake skin has been a popular material used on DKNY handbags, especially In recent seasons.  Flashy bags like the uniquely shaped Sherlock and the boxy Runway are done in high quality turquise croc, as well as safe shades of brown and black.  Eye catching prints are a part of the mix too, like North/South shopper and it’s white, pink and brown abstract print.  But bags like the Urban Fusion Flat Crossbody,  Urban Fusion North/South Shopper and the Linen and Leather Hobo that lend a fresh touch to any outfit with their contrasting leather trim, mixing great shades of beige and green with white.  And of course, for those who love all things monogamed, there are several totes, shoppers and clutches in brown, beige and black DKNY logo print.

  • Coach Handbags

    12 August 2009

The Coach handbag is pretty much a staple in the wardrobe of any fashionista.  The label, which brands itself as “timeless” and “classic”, was first created in 1941 with a focus on durable leather.  Each Coach bag bodes artisan quality craftsmanship, an attention to detail, and design that is both efficient and stylish.  but the biggest lure of the Coach handbag line is probably it’s double C logo, which can be found splashed across many of their bags, or added as a subtle touch to a hangout on others.

Loves of Coach handbags have their pick of the litter when it comes to shapes, sizes and colors.  The Coach line is broken up into collections, with each collection presenting bags in similar colors and patterns.  The classics include the Signature Stripe and Heritage Stripe bags, which are all monogrammed totes, bowlers and pouches with a vertical or horizontal leather stripe.  There’s also the Carly, which can be found in basic leather or a monogrammed print in various sizes.  The Coach Ergo collection is great for those who love small satchels and rouched totes.  And the newest Coach line, the Hamptons collection,  has the widest variety of shapes, and a great mix of leather, monogrammed fabric and patchwork.

Coach also makes cute shoes, coats, accessories, and even bags and wallets for me.

  • Dolce And Gabbana Handbags

    12 August 2009

Known for their sexy and sultry fashions, Italian fashion house Dolce and Gabbana is a force to be reckoned with in the style world.  The line is headed by it’s founders, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and the two quickly found a following in celebrities like Madonna, Monica Bellucci and Christina Aguilera, to name only a few.  Whether it be shoes, clothing, sunglasses or handbags, Dolce and Gabanna dominates just about every category.  But the Dolce and Gabbana handbag line in particular easily stands out amongst other luxury bag lines.

Dolce and Gabbana handbags are just as sexy as their clothing.  Plenty of plays on shape as well as loud patterns can be found throughout.  Take the Lily Satchel, for instance, which is a framed tote bag that is completely done in patent leopard print, as well as black.  The Linda Hobo is a pretty and practical sheepskin bag that comes in a soft shade of pinkish beige as well as basic black.  Another great wear to work bag is the Amer Satchel, a uniquely shaped handbag with a very small drop and lots of sleek seams in the design.  But if something more funky fits your fancy, then the Raquel Convertible Shopper is the way to go.  This hot purple bag can be folded over to create a tote, complete with a removable strap. Getting two bags in one is never a bad thing!

Add a little bit of luxe to your life by getting your hands on a Dolce & Gabbana handbag.

  • Gucci Handbags

    12 August 2009

Owning anything with a Gucci name on it is an instant sign of status and wealth, and a Gucci handbag is a must have for any designer handbag collection.  The line was created by designer Guccio Gucci in 1921, and was revitalized by renown fashion mogul Tom Ford in the 1990s.  A monogrammed Gucci bag can be easily spotted by it’s webbed double “G” logo, which is usually done with dark brown lettering on beige fabric.  Almost any design from the Gucci handbag range can be found using this sophisticated print.

Gucci has a couple of classic handbag styles under it’s belt.  One is the Gucci D-Ring, which is characterized by a large piece of D shaped hard wear, usually on the front and side of the bag.  Any of the monogrammed, basic satchels and totes are also considered classics, especially the striped totes.  More recently, the brand has seen success with the Gucci Indy handbag, which has a metal top handle, tassels and structured sides.  And next up on the horizon is the Gucci Hysteria collection, which features bags and clutches that all bode a new gold medallion that the line has currently unveiled.  This medallion pictures a knight holding a bag and a suitcase, which is meant to pay homage to when the labels founder worked as a bell boy in London.   The key Gucci Hysteria handbag is a rounded top handle bag with pleats, which comes in python, leather, metallic leather and prints.

Always high brow and often haughty, Gucci is the bag of choice for those who aren’t afraid to flaunt their wealth.
